Microsoft Stream is a video upload and sharing service included with your Sask DLC Microsoft 365 account. Stream can allow you to record, upload, and share videos. Microsoft Stream can be used to create and share videos for your assignments and integrates easily with other Microsoft 365 apps.
Important: All use of Microsoft Stream must comply with the Sask DLC acceptable use of computers and technology policy. Do not use Microsoft Stream to upload or distribute videos that violate copyright laws or infringe on the privacy of others.

Before You Begin
Before you can use Microsoft Stream, you will need to log into your Sask DLC Microsoft 365 account. If you have not accessed your Sask DLC Microsoft 365 account yet, please see the article titled How to Sign In to Microsoft 365.
Instructions
Getting Started with Microsoft Steam
- Go to Microsoft Stream by visiting https://stream.microsoft.com in your web browser and clicking "Sign in." You can also get to Stream by clicking on the Microsoft 365 "waffle" app launcher in the top left corner of your browser window after signing into Microsoft 365. Click "Explore all your Apps" if you don't see Stream in your apps list.

- The Stream start page shows you your recently uploaded and recorded videos as well as those that have been shared with you. You can also search your videos by using the "Search" box at the top of the window.
Upload A Video
Create a New Screen Recording
- Click the "Screen Recording" button under "Create new".
- The web browser may ask permission to use your microphone and camera. Make sure to allow these for Stream to make use of this feature.
- In the screen recording launch page, confirm your recording settings:
- Enable or disable your camera and/or microphone. You can also change the camera and microphone settings as needed by clicking the three-dot menu in the top right corner.
- Set the position for your camera thumbnail.
- (Optional) Type or paste the script for your video in the 'Teleprompter'. Set the text size and scroll speed.

- To begin your recording, click the "Start screen recording" or the record button.
- Select the Microsoft Edge tab, window, or screen that you wish to record. Be aware the choosing entire screen will record everything that appears on the screen while the screen recorder is on, including notifications. Enable "Also share system audio" if you want the sound put out by your device to be recorded.
- Click "Share". This will begin your recording. Videos in Stream are limited to 15 minutes.
- During recording, you can use the demonstration tools to draw on your screen, add text or images, apply filters, or write on a whiteboard. You can also change the presenter focus.
- When finished, click the "Review" button in the bottom right. If you are unsatisfied with your recording, click "Record again" in the bottom left.
- During the review, you can make minor edits on your video. When finished, click "Finish".
Create a New Camera Recording Video
- Click the "Camera Recording" button under "Create new".
- The web browser may ask permission to use your microphone and camera. Make sure to allow these for Stream to make use of this feature.
- In the camera recording launch page, confirm your recording settings:

- Enable or disable your camera and/or microphone. You can also change the camera and microphone settings as needed by clicking the three-dot menu in the top right corner.
- Set your backdrop by clicking on the backdrop button. Custom backdrop images can be uploaded from your device.
- (Optional) Text, drawings, images, and other effects can be added before the recording starts.
- (Optional) Type or paste the script for your video in the 'Teleprompter'. Set the text size and scroll speed.
- To begin your recording, click the record button at the bottom centre of the camera window.
- During recording, you can use the demonstration tools to draw on your video, add text or images, apply filters, or write on a whiteboard. You can also change the presenter focus.
- When finished, click the "Review" button in the bottom right. If you are unsatisfied with your recording, click "Record again" in the bottom left.
- During the review, you can make minor edits on your video. When finished, click "Finish".
Create a New Playlist
- Click the "Playlist" button under "Create new".
- Enter a name for your playlist. You can also enter a description and choose a save location.
- Click the "Add new item" button.
- Add the video you want to include from the "My files" list.
- Click "Select" to add them to the playlist.
- Repeat steps 3-5 to add more videos to your list.
- When finished, click "Share" to get the link to the playlist or send it in an email.
